Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.
Dear friends, I hope you are all well, and I am also well and healthy with your prayers and the endless mercy of Allah Almighty.
Any action without advice is from Satan
Human life is a multidimensional and complex reality. People are constantly faced with various decisions, actions and courses of action. Sometimes decisions have to be made in small matters of life, sometimes in big matters. In these cases, it is not always easy for people to distinguish between right and wrong and to follow the right path. Therefore, the Quran-Hadith and the Prophets and Messengers sent by Allah have always talked about the importance of advice, advice and Shura (consultation meeting) to guide people.
Even Islam clearly states that it is very important to take the advice of an experienced and trusted person before doing any work. Because, if you act without advice, it most of the time goes wrong and causes people to suffer. And falling into wrong actions and losses is one of the tricks of Satan. That is why it is said - "Any action without advice is from Satan."
Definition of Advice
Advice or Shura means taking the opinion of knowledgeable, experienced and trusted people before carrying out any matter or work. It provides guidance and guarantees a safe path for people.
Islam and Advice
In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty says -
"Their work is conducted on the basis of advice." (Surah Ash-Shura: 38)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself used to consult with his companions on every important matter. For example, he used to consult with them in the battles of Badr, Uhud and Khandaq, and even in household matters. This shows that even though he was a prophet of Allah, he did not make decisions alone; rather, he gave importance to the experience and opinions of others.
Disadvantages of Working Without Advice
1. Falling into wrong decisions – When a person makes decisions alone, many times mistakes are made due to his limited knowledge and experience. Satan takes advantage of this.
2. Increase in pride – A person who does not accept the advice of others develops pride. Pride was the first sin of Satan.
3. Creating division in society – When acting alone, others often react negatively and unrest is created.
4. Future damage – The results of many actions are not immediately understood, but experienced people can warn in advance. It is not possible to avoid these losses if you act without advice.
Satan's tricks and lack of advice
Satan is the biggest enemy of man. His trick is to lead people astray, cover them with ignorance and leave them alone. When someone acts without advice, he relies on his limited intelligence and thinking. In this situation, Satan can easily mislead him. Advice means a safe wall, which protects people from making wrong decisions. If people are without advice, they are deprived of this wall and fall directly under the influence of Satan.
Benefits of advice
1. Making the right decision – Correct and beneficial decisions can be made by combining different opinions.
2. Using the light of experience – Benefit can be gained from the experience of those who have done the same work before.
3. Increasing unity and love – Working together builds trust and cooperation among people.
4. Increasing confidence – Working with advice brings peace of mind and firmness.
5. Protection from the influence of Satan – Advice means caution, and the devil cannot easily mislead a cautious person.
The need for advice in daily life
In education – The opinion of experts is important in choosing a subject, planning for the future, etc.
In business – Taking advice from experts before making big investments or transactions saves you from losses.
In the family – The advice of husband and wife is necessary in managing the family, raising children, etc.
In running a state – The opinion of the Shura or parliament is essential for the development of a country.
Although man is the best creation created by Allah, his knowledge and experience are limited. Therefore, it is natural to make mistakes when working alone. Satan uses this limitation to mislead people. And advice is the light that protects people from the wrong path and guides them to the right path.
Therefore, before doing any work, it is essential to discuss and consult with wise, experienced and trustworthy people from both Islamic teachings and human perspectives. If you work without advice, it is more likely to be on behalf of Satan. Therefore, we should remember this principle at every step of our lives—
“Any work without advice is on behalf of Satan.”
