Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuhu.

Dear friends,

I hope you are all well with the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty. I am also well and healthy to accept your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.

“Donation increases wealth” – this saying may seem contradictory to an economic concept at first glance. Because, in general, when you donate, wealth decreases. But from a religious and spiritual perspective, especially in Islam, this concept carries deep significance. Here, the word “wealth increases” does not only mean financial growth, but also its multifaceted growth and beneficial effects.

Charity or Sadaqah (in Arabic) is an important act of worship in Islam and the basis of the welfare of mankind. Its importance has been repeatedly highlighted in the Holy Quran and Hadith. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

“Allah destroys usury and increases charity.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 276)

This verse makes it clear that charity does not only reduce wealth, but rather increases it by the will of Allah. This increase can be of both worldly and otherworldly types.

1. Religious and spiritual interpretation of wealth increase

A fundamental concept in Islam regarding the ownership of wealth is that Allah Almighty is the real owner of all wealth. Man is only a caretaker or user of the trust given to him. When a person gives from his wealth for the sake of Allah’s pleasure, Allah Almighty bestows blessings (goodness and abundance) on the donor’s wealth.

A. Blessing or increase in goodness

Blessing is a spiritual increase in wealth that is not visible to the eyes but its effect is felt in life. Even a small amount of wealth removes poverty, brings peace to the mind and is a cause of lasting goodness. In many cases, a giver lives a life free from poverty despite earning little, while a miserly person, despite possessing a lot of wealth, is deprived of mental peace and satisfaction. Charity is the main means of obtaining this blessing.

B. Promise of Recompense (Seven Hundred Times or More)

Allah Almighty has promised those who spend in His way a reward of seven hundred times or more. It is stated in the Holy Quran:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn, from which seven ears grow; in each ear there is a hundred grains. And Allah increases for whom He wills. Allah is Abundant, Wise.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 261)

This reward can come not only in the Hereafter, but also in this worldly life in various ways. For example, unexpected increase in income, success in business, increased harvest, or relief from financial loss through protection from danger.

C. Angels' Prayers

It is narrated in the Hadith that two angels descend to earth every morning. One of them says, "O Allah! Give a good reward to the one who spends in Your way." And the other says, "O Allah! Waste the wealth of the one who is stingy." (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim) This prayer of the angels plays a direct role in increasing wealth.

2. Purification and increase of wealth

Another important aspect of charity is to purify wealth. The poor and needy have a specific right (right) over wealth. By paying Zakat (obligatory charity), this essential right of wealth is fulfilled and the entire wealth becomes pure and lawful. Blessings come from pure wealth, and blessings leave from impure wealth. Voluntary charity or sadaqah further increases this purity and blessing.

3. Worldly and Economic Impact

Apart from the religious perspective, charity has some worldly economic and social benefits that indirectly help in increasing wealth.

A. Security and freedom from danger

Charity removes calamities. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Surely charity averts the punishment of the grave and places the servant in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection.” (Tabarani, Bayhaqi). Allah Almighty protects the donor’s wealth from unexpected dangers, illnesses, sorrows, accidents or business losses in this worldly life. This protection means a kind of increase in wealth. Although protection from financial loss is not a direct financial gain, it prevents the decline in wealth.

B. Increased mental peace and efficiency

Giving brings an unwavering peace and satisfaction to the mind. It reduces mental stress and anxiety. Mental peace increases people’s efficiency and creativity, which helps in creating new sources of income or increasing the amount of existing income.

C. Social status and good relations

The donor gains respect and status in society. This increases his social capital. Good relations and good acquaintances in society can bring opportunities in business or career, which indirectly plays a role in increasing wealth.

4. Types of charity and wealth growth

The concept of charity is broad. It is not only about giving money, but there are many types of it.

Common charity: feeding the poor, treating them well, removing annoying objects from the road, etc.

Sadaqah-e-Jariyah (ongoing charity): This is a charity whose reward or reward continues even after the death of the donor. For example: building a mosque, establishing a madrasa or educational institution, digging a well for public welfare, distributing useful knowledge. Such donations cause long-term welfare and abundance for the donor.

Sadaqah-e-Jariyah is a great example that shows how giving increases wealth. It creates a beneficial situation not only for the hereafter, but in many cases for the donor's current and future generations as well.

5. When and how to increase wealth by giving

Some things are important when giving to increase wealth:

Sincerity: GivIt must be in the country. Giving to show off does not bring any blessings.

Donating beloved things: It is better to donate things that you love and like. Allah Almighty says, "You will never attain full reward until you spend from that which you love (in the way of Allah)." (Surah Ale Imran, verse: 92)

Donating openly and secretly: Both types of donation are important. Giving openly encourages others, while giving secretly protects sincerity or sincerity. Allah Almighty has said that both types of donation should be rewarded.

The concept of "giving increases wealth" is a fundamental economic and spiritual teaching of Islam. This increase is not only measurable in monetary terms, but has depth and scope. Allah blesses the donor's wealth, protects him from dangers, gives him peace of mind, and prepares an unlimited reward in the Hereafter. Whatever the giver gives with one hand, Allah Almighty returns it many times over in various ways—whether through worldly abundance, mental satisfaction, or endless rewards in the Hereafter. It is this belief that encourages a believer to be generous and to avoid stinginess and spend spontaneously in the way of Allah.ing is only for the pleasure of Allah.
