Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Barkatuhu.

Dear friends,

I hope you are all well. I am also well and healthy with your prayers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.

Mental peace is a priceless asset in human life. Even if there is external success, money, wealth, and fame, if the mind is not at peace, then the real happiness of life cannot be felt. Mental peace is an internal state where the mind is free from worries, thoughts, and complete satisfaction. To achieve this, not only the external environment, but also the person's thoughts, lifestyle, and values play a very important role. Let's see how mental peace can be achieved.

1. Practicing spirituality

The most powerful way to achieve mental peace is to practice spirituality. Spiritual activities such as prayer, meditation, recitation of the Quran, Tasbih, supplication, etc. take people to Allah and bring inner peace. Complete trust and piety in Allah frees people from all worries.

The Quran says:

"Remember, for in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." (Surah Ar-Ra'd, 13:28)

2. Controlling desires

Human needs are unlimited. It is not possible to fulfill all desires. Therefore, excessive desires make the mind restless. If a person limits his needs and learns to live within his means, then he can easily achieve mental peace. Living a moderate life brings inner peace.

3. Being content and expressing gratitude

Discontent and envy create restlessness in the mind of a person. If you think that your situation is worse than others, you are bound to feel sad. Therefore, being grateful for what you have and not complaining about what you do not have is the key to mental peace.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"If you see someone who has more than you, then look at someone who is better off than you." (Bukhari and Muslim)

4. Hard work and busyness

Laziness is one of the causes of mental unrest. A busy life keeps people away from negative thoughts. Fruitful work throughout the day, service activities, education, self-development - these keep the mind calm and bring self-satisfaction.

5. Honest and good-natured relationships

Humans are social creatures. If the relationship with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues is not good, then mental unrest is inevitable. Good behavior, forgiving attitude, sympathy and tolerance keep the relationship good. The mind remains calm in mutual love and sympathy.

6. Forgiveness and removal of hatred

If the soul is filled with anger, hatred, vindictiveness, etc., then there is no place for peace. Those who can forgive others and remove hatred from their hearts experience true mental peace.

7. Regular health care and rest

There is a close relationship between the body and the mind. Moderate sleep, proper diet, exercise, and adequate rest maintain good mental health. The mind does not remain calm in a tired, exhausted body. Therefore, proper routine and health awareness are essential for mental peace.

8. Being in touch with nature

Nature calms the human mind. Trees, rivers, mountains, birdsong, open sky – these elements of nature calm the mind. Spending time in nature occasionally relieves mental fatigue and purifies the soul.

9. Reducing dependence on the Internet and social media

Nowadays, people are immersed in mobile screens all day long. Negative news, rumors, comparative images, etc. on social media create mental unrest. Excessive use makes the mind restless. Therefore, reducing it and focusing on real life increases peace.

10. Self-criticism and self-development

Admitting one's mistakes and mistakes and correcting them is very beneficial for mental peace. Pride, self-deception eat people up from the inside. Constantly trying to improve oneself and self-analysis frees the mind.

11. Living a purposeful life

If there is no goal in life, then a person becomes directionless. Directionlessness creates mental instability. When a person sets the right goal for his life and works to achieve that goal, his mind remains calm.

12. Philanthropy and human service

Acts like helping others, helping the needy, donating, serving the elderly, etc. bring a strange peace to the mind of a person. A philanthropist considers his existence worthwhile and gains mental peace from it.

Mental peace is not an external thing, it is a deep inner peace, which a person himself achieves through his thoughts, behavior, beliefs and lifestyle. It cannot be bought with money, fame, or reputation. True peace comes when people trust in God, are content with their limited needs, want the best for others, learn to forgive, understand their responsibilities, and live an honest life. We should accept peace of mind as a primary goal in life and strive for it.
