Hi everyone, serey.io how are you? I hope you are always in good health and safe wherever you live.
This time I will share information about the devastating flood that occurred in Malaysia. Malaysia is currently being hit by a disaster at the end of the year really makes me sad at this news. Heavy rains that have occurred since Friday (12/17/2021) have resulted in flooding in at least six Malaysian states. On Sunday (12/19/2021), due to the flooding, at least 14,000 people were evacuated.
Currently the Malaysian government has also deployed the armed forces and police to assist the evacuation process.
Currently, the Pahang region recorded the highest number of refugees, namely 5,189 people on Sunday morning.
Said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. The Selangor region is one of the regions that was quite surprised by this event because there was no prior preparation. In Selangor it was a bit chaotic because of the sudden flood. Incidents like that rarely happen in the rainy season."
As for the Kelantan and Pahang areas, although the flooding that occurred was quite severe, so far we have predicted that this event will occur.
Currently, floods are hitting Malaysia in six states, namely Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka. As a result of this flood a number of roads are impassable and many cars are reported to be submerged.
One of the chief ministers of Selangor, Amirudin Shari, said that the flooding was caused by high rainfall, which was the highest rainfall ever recorded.
A 26 year old resident from the Selangor district, did not expect the situation to be so serious and was forced to leave his car on the side of the highway. After four hours of being stranded without help and the flood not getting better, we decided to walk in the middle of the flood," said resident Ashraf Noor Azam.
Another person, Mohamad Imran Hakim Mohd Nazri, a restaurant worker at Setia Alam Selangor, said that he had to sleep there after the surrounding area was flooded.
There was also and I saw a video, TikTok social media was also busy with netizens uploading the occurrence of flash floods in Malaysia. Namely, one of the netizens who shared the flood conditions in Malaysia was the @babylutfya account. In his post, he showed videos of floods that have inundated houses. You can also look at the link below :

In this case, the government is preparing 5,731 aid centers at this time, the Malaysian government is currently preparing 5,731 aid centers for flood handling where the aid center if needed can accommodate up to 1.63 million people.
As I know due to this flood, the Stormwater Management And Road Tunnel (SMART) in Kuala Lumpur, was closed on Saturday night to allow flood water to flow through it. Meanwhile, the police are on standby, following up and carrying out emergency water disposal from the Klang Gate dam in Hulu Klang, because the water level has exceeded the danger mark.
Earlier in the week, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a red hazard warning, which is the highest level out of three for extreme and continuous heavy rains for the Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak and Pahang areas. They also issued an Orange alert which is the second highest level in several states, including Kelantan and Penang.
Thus at a glance the information that I can share in this post and hopefully useful. And see you again in my next post.
