Sculpt colored pencils from polymer clay. DIY (from my creative archive #15)

I propose to make life a little brighter with the help of polymer pencils! Today, I will show you how you can make such a funny office and offer several options for using such pencils.

For work you will need:

* polymer clay of several colors
* office knife or blade
* working surface (tile, sheet of paper, glass)
* extruder (you can do without it)
* pasta machine or rolling pin for rolling plastic

In order to imitate the wooden shell of the stylus, I used a gentle peach-beige color.

Good crush two pieces of plastic. From burgundy color cut off a small piece of slate.

I roll it on a pasta machine into seams approximately 2 mm thick (in my pasta machine this is mode No. 1, the largest thickness).
I roll a small maroon sausage in my hands - it will be a pencil lead.

Now I wrap it in two layers of beige color.

And then on top of one layer of burgundy. It turns out a thick sausage))). I roll it a little in my hands so that it fits into the extruder.

I want to draw your attention that the stage with an extruder is not necessary at all. You can roll this sausage with your hands to the desired thickness and then chop it. Excellent pencils will turn out.

For an extruder, I took a hex cell “honeycomb”. I load the sausage and start slowly squeezing the polymer clay.

It turns out a long polymer hexagonal pencil)))

I decided to make pencils of several colors, so I made other sausages in the same way and squeezed them through an extruder.

In order to be able to cut them evenly, I send them in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

During this time, I made three rectangles from the remnants of plastic. These will be blanks for brooches.

Pulling out from the freezer billet. It is very convenient to cut them - the clay is not deformed. But I didn’t work very well, since the clay in my hands began to warm up and lose shape. Therefore, I decided to bake all the sliced billets and grind them after baking.

This stage of work seemed to me the most difficult.
But working with baked plastic was much easier.
I sharpened the "pencils" with an ordinary stationery blade.

I made some brooches that I want to give to my artist friends. It seems to me that for someone who draws, such a brooch-badge will be a great gift.

Pencils stuck on the base of super-glue.
On the back side used pieces of foamiran.

I also made such an option: the pencils just glued together with each other with superglue, and from the back side I pasted a piece of foamiran, then a base for the brooch on it, and closed it with another piece for reliability.

I made earrings-studs from the smallest blue pencils, gluing fasteners with super glue. They look great and fun in the ears, keep well, their weight is not felt at all.
