Originally gen-ji was a phrase, before which we had no idea about naming or timing generations. A generation could be separated by an identity simply as nineties kids or nineties children. But this is also not the name of that generation. So what are their names? And what is the name of the rest?

No government commission or group decides the naming of each generation and its start and end times. Rather, various names and birth years were suggested and, through a somewhat haphazard process, a consensus gradually developed in the media and popular discourse. Since generations are often formed by specific events, their value and duration sometimes differ from country to country.

However, it is certain that those born between 1997 and 2012 are Gen-G or Generation Z. Currently the members of this generation are 12 to 27 years old. There is a lot of talk about the characteristics, good points, bad points of this generation, there is also a lot of research and discussion. Besides that, the question arises, since Z is the last letter of the English alphabet, then there must be Generation Y or X too. Who are they?

Usually a generation is formed for a period of 20 to 25 years i.e. two eras. However, their starting and ending years are determined by analyzing various statistics and data. Greatest Generation: They were born approximately from 1901 to 1927 and their current age must be over 95 years.

Silent Generation: They were born approximately from 1928 to 1945 and their current age is 79 to 94 years.

Baby Boomers Generation: They were born roughly from 1946 to 1964 and are currently between 60 and 78 years old.

Generation X: They were born approximately from 1965 to 1980 and their current age is 44 to 59 years.

Generation Y or Millennials: They were born approximately from 1981 to 1996. And their current age is 28 to 43 years. This generation, who were born again in 1990, that is, who spent their childhood and adolescence in the entire nineties, are called nineties kids. Most of their parents are members of Boomers and Generation X.

Generation Z or Gen-G: They were born between 1997 and 2012 and their current age is 12 to 27 years. Their parents are mainly members of Generation X and Y.

Generation Alpha: Their birth period is estimated from 2012 to 2024 and their current age is 0 to 12 years. Their parents are members of Generation Y or Millennial generation.

Although the end time of the Alpha generation is not yet determined. This generation is still babies and their behavioral characteristics and statistics are not yet widely published, so there is no telling when this period will end.

Like most people who write about the generation, it is initially assumed that the millennial age will continue until birth around 1999. But a 2011 analysis of large, national data found that members of the generation that first spent their entire teenage years with a smartphone took a while to find consensus, as did three-quarters of previous generations. Some have used the name Generation Z for this group. But others have argued that if Generation Y doesn't exist, then Generation Z doesn't seem to fit in either.

The oldest member of Generation Z is also only 27 years old. That is, members of this generation may take some time to become firmly established. However, history says that a new world comes with their hands.
