With the release of his most recent album Timeless, Nigerian megastar Davido broke a previous Apple Music record.
The fourth album by Nigerian superstar Davido was released on March 31, 2023. After a brief period of silence from the award-winning musician, who has established himself as one of Africa's most formidable hitmakers, the eagerly awaited 17-track album was released.
African albums' first-day streams on Apple Music have reached a new high thanks to Davido's "Timeless." This information was made public on April 3, 2023 in a tweet from Apple Music's official account.
With the album charting in 102 countries, peaking at number 26, and achieving a new African top of number 2 in the United States, Davido has already smashed multiple first-day records across Boomplay, Spotify, and Apple music charts throughout the world.
Timeless set a new Spotify record for the biggest debut week for an album. On March 31, Nigeria's 'Timeless' surpassed Burna Boy's 'Love, Damini's previous record debut week total of 4.89M streams with 4.91 million streams on its first day of release.
