There was no doubt before this game that Arsenal picked themselves up after a patch of bad results and everyone expected them to give Liverpool a run for their money but it wasn't to be as Liverpool humbled Arsenal and gave them a reality check to allow them to go back to the drawing board.
Liverpool hosted Arsenal and gave them a taste of what Manchester United suffered at their hands but this time they dished out a 4-0 Thumping of Arsenal. Mane, Jota, Salah and Takumi all heaped the heavy defeat on Arsenal as they couldn't crawl their way back into the game. It was a well-deserved victory for Liverpool and Arsenal wouldn't have any complaints whatsoever despite both managers clashing on the touchline earlier in the game as they were both cautioned with yellow cards.
Ramsdale produced moments of magic in the game to keep Arsenal in the contest but he finally caved after Liverpool bombarded the defence line and the pressure paid off.
Arsenal should have been ahead after they broke through with Smith-Rowe finding Aubameyang on the side. He and Aubameyang exchanged lovely passes before Aubameyang was sent clear in the box. His cut back and pass to Lacazette was easy as Lacazette literally strolled into the net before blasting the ball into the back of the net but the linesman flagged for offside. What a goal that would have been and the beauty of it was the build-up to that goal.
Mane gave Liverpool the lead in the 39th minute after Alexander Arnold's free-kick delivery into the box was met with precision by Mane as he finally beat Ramsdale to give Liverpool the lead. Arsenal gave away the second goal when Tavares' back pass was pounced on by Jota and with ease, he left the goalkeeper and defenders for dead as he strolled the ball into the back of the net to increase their lead to a healthy 2-0 cushion in the 52nd minute.
Aubameyang had a chance to half the deficit after he raced on goal on the right-hand side of the pitch but his effort lacked power and accuracy as the goalkeeper managed to stop the ball with his feet. Not long after, Mane was sent clear on goal and with a bursting pace, he managed to get the ball across to Salah in the box as he bundled the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0 in the 73rd minute.
Henderson started a move that sent Mane clear, charging towards Arsenal's box and he found Salah who quickly released the pass to Alexander Arnold and the latter's ball in across the face of goal was met by the substitute; Minamino Takumi and he had the simplest of finishes as he completed the route; 4-0 just 4 minutes after Salah's goal.
Arsenal needed the reality check and hopefully, they can go on another brilliant run yet again.
