Newcastle United Got A Win Over Lamps.

What a boost this must be for Eddie Howe and desperately, they need all the help they can just to see if they can beat the drop and stay in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard's wouldn't have bargained for this, as they surrendered to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United. Everton got ahead through Lascelles' own goal before Holgate returned the favour with an own goal of his won before Fraser and new boy, Kieran Trippier completed the win for Newcastle United. Lampard would have to sit tight if he doesn't want to suffer the same fate as Rafael Benitez who was sacked unceremoniously.

It was a well-balanced game as both teams set out and Newcastle United were unlucky to fall behind in the 36th minute after Holgate's shot came off Lascelles and the ball rolled into the back of the net off him. It didn't take long before Newcastle responded in an almost similar fashion. Everton were only ahead for a minute before Newcastle United restored parity. Lascelles got on the end of a lovely delivered corner kick into the box and his effort cannoned off the crossbar but rolled off Holgate into the back of the net. Holgate was instrumental for the first goal which Lascelles converted into his net and on the other end, Lascelles was also instrumental for the goal which Holgate bundled into his net.

Newcastle increased their tempo and should have gone ahead with Chris Woods' header but the goalkeeper saved it comfortably but he was unable to do anything to Fraser's attempt in the 56th minute after a well-worked effort from Saint-Maximin who delivered the effort into the box before Fraser's effort managed to get over the line despite scrambles to keep it out by the Everton defence line. Newcastle got the lead for the first time in the game.

The icing of the cake was delivered in a sumptuous manner by Trippier in the 80th minute with his well worked and nicely executed free-kick found the back of the net to confine Frank Lampard to his first defeat in the Premier League after taking the reins. You could see how much it means to Newcastle United fans and owners as they knew how valuable the 3 points was especially with Burnley gaining a point from Manchester United.

Lampard would have to shuffle his pack once again and with his new additions still unable to get involved in the game, he would be happy for what's to come as they would provide him with better options as they try to get their campaign back on track under the new manager.

Newcastle United got out of the relegation zone and are in 17th position, 2 points ahead of Norwich City and just a point behind Everton who they defeated on the night. The race to beat the drop would be a tight affair just as the race for the top 4 at the other end would be as well.
