 Teresa's family name was Agnes. She was born in Albania. Agnes was born on August 26, 1910, in the Ottoman Empire of Yusuf, to a wealthy peasant family. Mother, father, brother and sister have a very happy family. But in 1919, he lost his father when he was only nine years old. Grow up with mom.

 

 Agnes attended missionary schools. She heard from the missionaries about the misery and poverty of the people of Calcutta. The misery of the people had a profound effect on her mind. He decided to stand by the side of the people in their grief.

 

 

 In 1926, Janani Tereza came to Calcutta to teach at Loreto St. Mary's School. There was a poor slum in Kolkata near the school. His mind always wanted to serve them there.

 

 On 24 May 1931, she was sworn in as a nun. During this time he adopted the name Theresa after Saint Therese de Lisieux, the patron saint of missionaries. This time he wanted to quit teaching and join the ministry, but he did not get permission from the pope.

 

 Eighteen years of his life were spent in teaching. He did not like teaching in the four walls. One year before independence, the Hindu-Muslim riots started in Calcutta in 1948. At that time, he devoted himself directly to the service of riot-affected people.

 

 After independence, she became a citizen of India in 1947. At the same time, she adopted the dress of an Indian woman. Blue border white cotton sari. Then with only 12 members, he established 'Missionaries of Charity' on October 7, 1950. Whose branches are now spread all over the world.

 

 Nirmala Shishu Bhaban was built for the deprived orphans neglected in the society. Janani Theresa Sebabrata spread all over the country. He built 60 schools, 55 leprosy treatment centers, 20 rescue ashrams and 2 charitable clinics.

 Mother Teresa's words were not confined to the church. His fame spread in the country and abroad. She became a true mother of poor people. He carefully sheltered countless helpless people.

 

 Thousands of people from home and abroad have respectfully accepted his loan. He has received many great awards in his life. He has received Bharat Ratna award in this country. Magsaysay award in Philippines. He also received the Pope's Peace Prize. In 1981, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He donated all the money he earned to human welfare to his own Missionaries of Charity.
