Today I want to introduce you to Ukraine again. This is my beautiful country. I really want all the horror of Russian aggression to end. Let them go and build their own order in their country. We, Ukrainians, develop our country ourselves and live in it.
Today I want to tell you the role of Ukraine in the scientific research of Antarctica. I want to remind you that only 30 countries send year-round expeditions to Antarctica. Ukraine is one of them.
Of course, I will back up my story with a photograph of Antarctica from my personal archive. I can't hide so much beauty and mystery from you.
The Ukrainian Antarctic Research Center is located on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard in Kyiv. It is here that the work on equipping and maintaining the Ukrainian Antarctic station "Akademik Vernadsky" is in full swing. Every year the center hosts a competition for the trip of scientists to Antarctica. Polar explorers go on an expedition for a year. Each polar explorer has his own profession, scientific degree.
Now the 27th Ukrainian scientific expedition is in Antarctica. A team of 12 researchers work for the benefit of their country and the world. Antarctica is a part of the planet that is constantly being studied by scientists from all over the world.
The Ukrainian Antarctic station is located on Galindez Island in the Argentine Islands archipelago. It's near the Antarctic Peninsula.
The Ukrainian station "Akademik Vernadsky" operates all year round. It is a geographical and meteorological observatory. The world database constantly receives reports on various areas of research and observation.

Ukraine recently bought the Noosphere icebreaker from Britain to improve logistics with the Antarctic station.
Antarctica is still largely a mysterious place on the planet for scientists. 30 countries around the world conduct research year-round. Ukraine as part of them is fruitfully working on the secrets of the South Pole of our beautiful planet.
