Hi friends!
Sometimes there are very interesting meetings of people who sweep through life. My favorite writers are Leo Tolstoy and Anton Chekhov. Has anyone in the world not heard about their work? This is simply impossible for an educated person. Two writers supplemented and taught each other. Leo Tolstoy Anton Chekhov loved him fatherly, gently. Chekhov's words " While young, strong, cheerful do not get tired of doing good!"Tolstoy carefully copied in his notebook – this phrase became the motto of his life. Leo Tolstoy said about Anton Chekhov that it was Pushkin in prose and often read and reread his stories. Spiritual closeness connected two geniuses.
The hypnotism of the theme "Tolstoy and Chekhov" is so strong that for more than a hundred years it has attracted the attention of scientists and cultural figures. Written hundreds of papers on the history of personal and creative relationship of Anton Chekhov and Leo Tolstoy. Their conversations, testimonies of contemporaries have been studied to the smallest detail, and yet there are much more questions than answers. Why Tolstoy and Chekhov did not correspond? Why Anton Pavlovich postponed more than two years the acquaintance to Lev Nikolaevich? Why photos with inscriptions Tolstoy to Chekhov is, of Chekhov and Tolstoy – not? What was more in their relationship – mutual attraction or rejection? It is difficult over time to understand and realize all this. We can only say for sure that they had a great influence on each other in their creative way.

What Anton Chekhov said about Leo Tolstoy:
I'm afraid of Tolstoy's death. If he died, then my life would be formed by an empty space... I have a man like him
What Leo Tolstoy said about Anton Chekhov:
It was an incomparable artist... the Artist of life... and the dignity of his work is that it is clear and akin not only to every Russian, but every person in General... and most importantly... He created a new, completely new forms of writing, the likes of which I have not met anywhere else!...It's a one-of-a-kind writer...
In order not to write the researchers of the life and relationships of Tolstoy and Chekhov, we can always say that they supported each other and complemented. The writers were completely different. It usually happens in life. Plus and minus attract. I think that the analysis of relations and creative growth should be carried out not on the meetings of writers, but on the works that came out from under their pen. And this will be the most truthful attitude of the two geniuses of Russian literature.
