Hello friends!
Polygamy is common in the animal world. However, some species choose a single mate for the rest of their lives. It is incredibly pleasant to look at such examples of selfless love. Perhaps people should even learn loyalty from these beautiful representatives of the fauna. Penguins... These flightless birds create incredibly interesting families. Partners share the responsibilities of raising children, turns to incubate the eggs and feed the babies. Penguin pairs are incredibly strong.

Today I will tell you a story that is fascinating and inspiring. Be sure to read the post! Penguins have a lot to learn!
Photos were kindly provided to me by Vadim Zhukovsky, who will go on an expedition to Antarctica for the second time in March. Thanks to Vadim, I will be able to introduce you more to the beauty of the ice continent.
"Marriages" in the animal world are monogamous only in rare cases, but how else, because the life cycle of many living beings is too short to constantly look for an old partner, and the mortality rate is too high to be devoted to the same partners. However, there are still exceptions, and some of them are among penguins. Scientists who have been observing the penguins for 30 years have used satellite tracking systems, which have found that partners in pairs of Magellanic penguins remain loyal to each other for many years, despite the fact that during their winter travels they can be thousands of kilometers away. Researchers placed metal rings on the paws of 50,000 penguins that live on the southern coast of Argentina. Previously, scientists believed that partners can be together for a maximum of 10 years, which is due to the fact that many birds die during migrations. However, scientists were surprised by the length of the relationship in one pair of penguins that "lived" side by side for 16 years.
The connection of these birds with each other is simply incredible! But the story I will write to you will surprise you even more!
On Galindez island in Antarctica, where the Ukrainian Antarctic station named after Vernadsky is located, there are Gentu penguins, or skipper penguins. The king penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) is very similar to the Emperor penguin, but differs from it in its more modest size and color of feathers. The dimensions of the king penguin range from 90 to 100 cm penguin is 9.3-18 kg. in adults the back is dark gray, sometimes almost black, abdomen white, sides dark head and breast are spots of bright orange. The habitat of this bird is the South sandwich Islands, Tierra del Fuego Islands, croze, Kerguelen, South Georgia, Macquarie, heard, Prince Edward, and the coastal waters of the Lusitania Bay.
In the photo, you see a stunning pair of penguins in love, which belong to different species. The woman in the pair is the king penguin, the man is the gentoo!
Scientists have been watching this unusual couple in love for 17 years! In the photo, you can see this warmth and care.
You start to think even more deeply about how people are moving away from each other. Penguins show a stunning example of love on Earth. This is an amazing and inspiring phenomenon! Let all people on Earth also become closer to each other! Let there be more love and understanding! All happiness and good!

P.S: On land, the penguin is very slow and quite often, sharply throwing back his head, loses his balance and falls on his back. From this position, the bird can no longer rise independently, so many polar stations have an amazing profession-a penguin lifter, or a penguin flipper. This person helps the penguins to turn over and take the usual vertical position for the bird.
Until next time, @r3benok
