Shrimp is called the white gold of Bangladesh. Bangladesh earn a huge amount of money from shrimp by exporting it. Shrimp is also a very delicious good item all over the world.

Today i am going to discuss how to increase the production of shrimp in Bangladesh in the changeable environment.

Climate change induced sea level rise salinity intrution and unsustainable shrimp farming practices in the polder landscape are degrading the local ecosystem and eventually declining the shrimp farm productivity. Mangrove polder project intervention such that integrated mangrove shrimp culture respect to enhancing shrimp productivity through innovation in land use planning, water management and plantation of mangrove trees in ponds and canal to reconstruction the polder landscape. Integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture shows advantages over the traditional shrimp farming system in terms of increasing yield of shrimp and other species by self regulating mechanism included soil water quality management, disease control, enhancing primary productivity, nutrient cycling, sediment trapping etc. Survival and growth rate of planted mangroves in integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture is found comparable to naturally grown mangroves in the coastal areas. Large variation in net revenue between the integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture and traditional shrimp farming system is found in production and income. So, integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture is a very profitable for the shrimp farmers as well as for our economy. So we can say that integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture is a recommended method of shrimp farming for the shrimp farmers of Bangladesh. integrated mangrove shrimp aquaculture will reduce the livelihood vulnerability and improve the coastal biodiversity.
