Recently, only the lazy is not talking about cryptocurrency. In every country, every resident has heard about cryptocurrency and bitcoin. At the same time, everyone has their own opinion on this. This also applies to countries approaching this issue with radially opposing views. So, in El Salvador on September 7, Bitcoin officially became a means of payment. But Russia does not want to agree with this in any way and does not even look in this digital direction.
This idea was expressed by one of the main people of the country - Dmitry Peskov. In his interview, the presidential spokesman said that bitcoin is nothing more than a "quasi-currency", and Russia itself is not yet ready to follow the path of El Salvador and recognize bitcoin as a means of payment. Moreover, this applies to the entire field of cryptocurrencies. Peskov assures that cryptocurrency, as a monetary instrument, does not bring any benefit to the country's financial and economic sector.
Russia generally treats cryptocurrency very negatively. This is confirmed by the recently released bill, which, from January 1 of this year, introduces a complete ban on the use of cryptocurrency as a means of payment. In addition to this, it is worth mentioning the personal instruction of the President of Russia to the departments accountable to him to conduct an audit and identify the owners of digital assets. But this is not the limit. So, Pavel Krasheninnikov proposed to assign cryptocurrencies the status of narcotic drugs and bring them to criminal responsibility for their possession.
But Ukraine, the immediate geographical neighbor of Russia, went the opposite way and decided to legalize the use of cryptocurrencies in the country. At the last meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, the deputies adopted a bill allowing the use of cryptocurrencies and digital assets in the country. The bill gives the concept of the legal status of cryptocurrency assets, defines their status, as well as the requirements for providers of this kind of services (related to cryptocurrencies).
Note that, according to financial analysts, the turnover of cryptocurrency funds in Ukraine is 1 billion hryvnia, and all these funds are in the shadows. All this influences the decision of international exchanges not to enter this gray area. It also does not contribute to taxation in the country, which would lead to the economic development of the state. The new bill is intended to create better conditions for foreign companies to enter the market, entrepreneurs dealing with cryptocurrencies will have the opportunity to feel protected, and the state budget will receive an additional replenishment point. Note that at the moment only a few countries have legalized cryptocurrency: Germany, Luxembourg and Singapore. Now Ukraine is included in this number.
