DeFi Platform CoW Protocol Exploits and Loses Over 550 BNB

Seeing what's going on in the centralized crypto exchange, you look at the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) platform. You think it is safe to interact with DeFi. People say when you are into crypto, you cannot close your eyes and blindly trust everything is safe. They are right.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol CoW Swap becomes a victim of smart contract exploit and loses almost 551 BNB which is worth $181,600. The attackers added their own wallet address as a solver to CoW Swap. And it allowed the attackers to initiate a transaction that gave approval for transfers of DAI to SwapGuard and then transferred the assets to other addresses.

Finally, the attackers used the crypto mixer Tornado Cash to swap and get the stolen funds. According to the CoW Swap statement, the attackers only got access to the protocol free that was collected over a week. They are doing more investigation about it. Users' funds are safe. The attackers do not have access to users' funds.

Hackers and exploiters take advantage of any vulnerability to exploit the system and steal money. That's what happened in the past, happening now, and will happen in the future. You cannot avoid the risk, it is better to manage the risk and position yourself to survive and grow over time.

Developers need to fix all issues with smart contact. This is a learning curve. More developments and innovations will help to make the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol secure and less risky.

It is important to keep an eye on what's going on and how hackers exploit the system to hack and steal money. I think it will help to make better financial decisions to keep your crypto assets safe and secure.

So what do you think? Please feel free to leave your comments. Thank you for reading this post. That's it for now. I'll be back with another post.
