Another time-honored novel by Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay, author of the first successful novel "Durgeshanandini" in Bengali literature, is called Kapalakundula. There were some strange reasons behind writing this Kapalakundula novel. This will be the first in a series of my new writings. And this article will be a little different.

Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay was in his personal life a Deputy Collector of the then British Government of India. He had to live in different parts of India for work. When he was working as the Deputy Collector of Medinipur district of West Bengal, he was often approached by a strange monk. That monk used to say Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay various strange things. Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay was a highly educated man. He did not like these strange things and forbade the monk to come to him. Sometimes scared. Nevertheless, the monk used to come to Mr. Bankimchandra from time to time. As a result, for a while Mr. Bankimchandra started thinking about the words of that monk.

However, Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay had already been transferred from Medinipur and appointed as the Collector of Khulna. On the day he left Medinipur for Khulna, he asked a friend who was present there, "If a girl is raised by a single male guardian in a secluded place isolated from society from birth to her youth, then there must be something different effect in that girl. If this girl marries a man of a civilized society and enters a civilized society after reaching puberty, will that girl be able to overcome the previous influence of her life? " In answer to this question, Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay's friend was silent without saying anything, but the driver of the car present there said something in reply. His answer was, "After marriage, if the girl is in love with her husband, children, relatives, if she is in various jobs, she will be able to overcome all the effects of her previous life." But this answer may not have satisfied Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay very much at that time. He later wrote his famous time-honored novel "Kapalakundula" expressing his own views on these events.

I will not go into what he said in the novel, but I will look at another issue. In such a case, will man really be able to completely or partially overcome all the effects of his previous life? If not, on what basis do we use the word "radical change" in the case of a human being? Or if such an effect can really be overcome, then what is the main factor?
