Like most of them, there is a lot of misconception in the society about AIDS. Awareness raising is essential to eradicate these misconceptions, which is possible only through education. AIDS is a chronic disease that has a cure but no cure.
Bangladesh is a South Asian country geographically. Neighboring countries India, Thailand, Myanmar, Bhutan, the rate of HIV infection is gradually increasing. Due to the contact of these countries with Bangladesh, AIDS is spreading in Bangladesh as well. Sylhet and Chittagong, two border districts of Bangladesh, have high rates of AIDS. Besides, this rate is also noticeable in the border districts of Jessore and Rajshahi. This growing situation is as threatening for Bangladesh as it is for Thailand.
AIDS is a deadly disease. So far no cure has been found. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out awareness raising activities at a massive rate. If this awareness campaign is not effective or there is no remedy, it will take the form of an epidemic and lead the world to destruction. Human existence will disappear. So everyone has to come forward from their position to prevent AIDS.
