Strikes and strikes are very important issues in Bangladesh. From the past till today strikes and strikes have been recognized as a strategy of political, economic and cultural movement of the people. However, at present, the negative impact of strikes and strikes has become a cause of concern for the country and the people. Even then, it is only through strikes that it is possible to realize the demands and rights of a large movement.
The word hartal comes from the Gujarati language which when analyzed means ‘har- (every) + tal- (lock)’ meaning lock on every door. Strike is the name given to the closure of vehicles, markets, shops, offices, courts, etc. for a certain period of time to express protests. Again, the Bengali word for the English word 'strike' is 'strike'. It means to hit. Strikes are observed by protesting against any injustice or inconsistency. However, the extent of the strike is greater than the strike. Strikes are usually observed on the basis of various institutional demands. However, strikes are also called for the greater good beyond the boundaries of the organization. And in order to create overall pressure on the government or the concerned authorities to realize the strike demand, through the support of the people in the regional or the whole country, shops, vehicles, educational institutions, mills, offices, courts, etc., all kinds of strike calls and demonstrations.
In a changing world, it is only natural that the type of movement should change. However, those who misuse it, regardless of the significance of the strike, must remember that politics and political programs are for the welfare of the people. The ruling class also needs to make efforts to uphold the rights of the people. Only then will it be possible to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh. Bangladesh, which was formed through movement and struggle, will get the happiness of true independence.
