ভোলা বাংলাদেশের বৃহত্তম দ্বীপ। মেঘনা নদীর মোহনায় অবস্থিত ভোলা বাংলাদেশের একমাত্র দ্বীপ জেলা। দ্বীপটির পূর্বনাম দক্ষিণ শাহবাজপুর। সেন্ট মার্টিন্স দ্বীপ বঙ্গোপসাগরে অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশের একমাত্র সামুদ্রিক প্রবাল দ্বীপ। এটি টেকনাফ সমুদ্র উপকূল হতে নয় কিলোমিটার দক্ষিনে নাফ নদীর মুখে অবস্থিত। সেন্টমার্টিন দ্বীপ ইউনিয়নের স্থানীয় নারিকেল জিঞ্জিরা। দীপ্তি পর্যটনকেন্দ্র মৎস্য আহরণ চুনাপাথর খনিজ পদার্থ প্রভৃতি জন্য বিখ্যাত। এই দ্বীপটিকে এক্সপ্লোসিভ টুরিস্ট জোন হিসেবে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে। সেন্টমার্টিন দ্বীপের দক্ষিণাংশ ছেড়া দ্বীপ নামে পরিচিত ।জোয়ারের সময় দ্বীপ সেন্টমার্টিন হতে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়ে কিন্তু ভাটার সময় সেন্টমার্টিন হতে পায়ে হেঁটে দ্বীপ টিতে যাওয়া যায়। এছাড়া এটি বাংলাদেশের সর্ব দক্ষিণের স্থান। টেকনাফ-সেন্টমার্টিন চলাচলকারী জাহাজ হচ্ছে কেরিয়া সিন্দাবাদ। বাংলাদেশের সমুদ্রসীমায় এখন পর্যন্ত পাঁচ প্রজাতির সামুদ্রিক কচ্ছপের উপস্থিতি পাওয়া গেছে। এরমধ্যে অলিভ রিডলে গ্রীন টারটল ও হকসিবল এই তিন জাতের কচ্ছপ কক্সবাজার উপকূলে ডিম পাড়তে আসে।

 

নিঝুম দ্বীপ মেঘনা নদীর মোহনায় বঙ্গোপসাগরের হাতিয়া নামক স্থানে অবস্থিত। 1970 সালের ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে এ দ্বীপের অধিকাংশ বাসিন্দা নিহত হয়। এই কারণেই মূলত দ্বীপটির নাম করণ করা হয় নিঝুম দ্বীপ। দ্বীপটির পূর্বের নাম ছিল বাউলার চর বালুরচর। এই দ্বীপটি উপকূলীয় সবুজ বেষ্টনী অঞ্চল মৎস্য আহরণ অতিথি পাখি আগমনের জন্য বিখ্যাত।

 

দক্ষিণ তালপট্টি দ্বীপ বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের মধ্যে বিরোধপূর্ণ একটি দ্বীপ। এটি হাড়িয়াভাঙ্গা নদীর মোহনায় বঙ্গোপসাগর অবস্থিত। দ্বীপটির অন্য নাম পূর্বাশা ভারতের নামকরণ করেছিল নিউমুর। 2010 সালের মার্চ মাসে দ্বীপটি তলিয়ে যায়।

মহেশখালী বাংলাদেশের একমাত্র পাহাড়ি দ্বীপ আদিনাথ মন্দির এই দ্বীপে অবস্থিত। সোনাদিয়া দ্বীপ মৎস্য আহরণ ও অতিথি পাখির জন্য বিখ্যাত। এই দ্বীপে গভীর সমুদ্রবন্দর নির্মাণ করা হবে। সন্দ্বীপে প্রাচীনকালে সামুদ্রিক জাহাজ তৈরি করা হতো। এবং কুতুবদিয়া দ্বীপের রাত্রে নৌ চলাচলের সুবিধার জন্য ব্রিটিশ আমলে নির্মিত বাতিঘর রয়েছে। এবং সর্বশেষ মনপুরা দ্বীপ যে দ্বীপে পর্তুগিজরা বসবাস করত।

মূলত নিঝুম দ্বীপ ও হাতিয়া নোয়াখালী জেলায় অবস্থিত। ভোলা নিজেই একটি দ্বীপ জেলা এবং মনপুরা দ্বীপ ভোলা জেলায় অবস্থিত। দক্ষিণ তালপট্টি দ্বীপ যেটি বর্তমানে নিশ্চিহ্ন সেটি সাতক্ষীরা জেলায় অবস্থিত ছিল। সন্দ্বীপ চট্টগ্রাম জেলায় অবস্থিত এবং কক্সবাজারের রয়েছে সেন্টমার্টিনস কুতুবদিয়া মহেশখালী সোনাদিয়া এইগুলো।

দ্বীপ জেলা ভোলার আয়তন 1441 বর্গ কিলোমিটার, সন্দ্বীপের আয়তন 762 বর্গ কিলোমিটার, মনপুরা দ্বীপের আয়তন 373 বর্গ কিলোমিটার, মহেশখালী 362 নিঝুমদ্বীপ 91 বর্গ কিলোমিটার। দক্ষিণ তালপট্টি দ্বীপ ছিল 10 কিলোমিটার সোনাদিয়া 9 এবং সেন্টমার্টিন 8 বর্গ কিলোমিটার।

Nijhum Island is located at Hatia in the Bay of Bengal at the mouth of the Meghna River. The 1970 cyclone killed most of the island's inhabitants. This is why the island is named Nijhum Island. The former name of the island was Baular Char Balurchar. The island's coastal green belt is famous for the arrival of fishing guest birds.

 

South Talpatti Island is a disputed island between Bangladesh and India. It is located in the Bay of Bengal at the mouth of the Hariabhanga river. Another name for the island was Purbasha Bharat, named Newmore. The island sank in March 2010.

Maheshkhali The only hill island of Bangladesh, Adinath Temple is located on this island. Sonadia Island is famous for fishing and guest birds. A deep seaport will be built on the island. In ancient times, ships were built in Sandwip. And Kutubdia Island has a British-era lighthouse to facilitate night shipping. And the last Monpura island to be inhabited by the Portuguese.

Mainly located in Nijhum Island and Hatia Noakhali district. Bhola itself is an island district and Monpura Island is located in Bhola district. South Talpatti Island which is now extinct was located in Satkhira district. Sandwip is located in Chittagong district and Cox's Bazar has St. Martin's Kutubdia Maheshkhali Sonadia.
