Death is a bad reaper. It harvests the ripe and the unrippen crops.

This time the hammer of death befell on Adeka. This death was not normal and it left all the people of Kiathandi village with mouths wide open in wonder.

Adeka went the most accursed death of the time. All the elders of the village in one Accord believed the death had a human hand in it.

Adeka was an easy going man who was loved by all and sundry in this hilly village. He never ever had any collision with any villager be it man, woman or the young. Adeka was the most sober person.

Yet Adeka was found hanging on a noose in the fireplace of his house. He had taken the opportunity when his young wife went to the river to fetch water to do the abominable.

When a person from another village was hired to cut down the rope is when they found the banana of the man standing stiff. This was another abomination.

Normally a person who committed suicide was caned thoroughly. Yet this one was never ever touched. His young wife was to be locked in the house together with the corpse so that they have some intervourse. It was an abomination to bury somebody with a standing banana. The lady refused adamantly to conform to this old tradition.

The man was buried!

A week passed.

Felomena, as this was the name of the late Adeka's wife, was coming from the river. Suddenly she fell down and sprawled on the ground in an eaglespread function. She started to weep loudly mentioning her dead husband. Onlookers gathered around and were mesmerised with the drama  unfolding before their eyes.

The crowd was speechless, actionless and without movement. They watched in awe and wonder. Was it true her dead husband was raping her?

"There he is going away. Catch him." Shouted Filomena.

We saw nobody.

When we went to the lady her inners we're torn. She could not stand up. We took her to hospital. Her hip bone was dislocated.
