Socialism and humans in Cuba (part 1)
#### Dear serey all
The general opinion expressed by the mouth of the spokesman of the capitalists, in the context of the ideological war against socialism, namely that socialism, or the period of development of socialism as we are carrying out in Cuba, is shown by the elimination of individuals in the name of the state. I will not try to reject this opinion solely based on theoretical arguments, but by showing the facts as they are in Cuba and then giving additional general comments. Let me now explain the history of our revolutionary struggle before and after successfully seizing power.

As is well known, the exact date of the start of the revolutionary struggle - which peaked on January 1, 1959 - was on July 26, 1953. A group led by Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada barracks in Oriente Province on the morning of that date. The attack failed, the failure became a disaster; and those who lived were thrown into prison, and restarted the revolutionary struggle after they were released through an amnesty.
In this process, where there is only the seed of socialism, humans are a fundamental factor. We put our trust in him - individual, distinctive, with his first and last name - and the victory or failure of the mission entrusted to him depends on his capacity for action.
Next came the stage of guerrilla struggle. This struggle developed in two different environments: the people, the sleeping masses who had to be mobilized; and its pioneers, guerrillas, motor power mobilization, generation of revolutionary consciousness and militant enthusiasm. This pioneer is a catalyst agent that evokes the subjective conditions needed to win.
Here again, within the framework of our proletarization of thought, from the revolution that takes place in our habits and thoughts, the individual is the main factor. Every warrior from the Sierra Maestra who reached the top in a row of revolutionary forces has a record of extraordinary actions. They obtained this level on the basis of their actions. This is the first period of heroism, and there they have to bear very heavy responsibilities, for very dangerous tasks, with no other satisfaction than succeeding in fulfilling the obligations imposed on them.
In revolutionary education work, we often return to themes that contain lessons like this. The attitude of our fighters is directed as a human being of the future.
In our other parts of history the act of total dedication to the revolutionary struggle is constantly being repeated. During the October crisis and the moment
Hurricane Flora we witnessed extraordinary acts of courage and sacrifice shown by all the people. The discovery of the method of preserving this heroic attitude in everyday life, from an ideological point of view, is one of our fundamental tasks.

In January 1959, a revolutionary government was established with the participation of various members of the treacherous bourgeoisie. The existence of the Rebellious Army (later transformed into Revolutionary armed forces after the victory of the 1959 revolution, pent) as a fundamental factor of the forces that guarded the revolution.
Serious contradictions are developing. The main contradiction, in February 1959, was completed when Fidel Castro held the leadership of the government, taking the prime minister's post. This process reached its peak in July of the same year as the resignation of President Urrutia due to mass pressure.
In the history of the Cuban revolution it is clear the character, the original character, which systematically repeatedly appears: the masses
This multi-faceted process is not, as considered, the number of elements of the same type, like a group of sheep, moreover, depreciated into the type of system imposed from above. It is true that he followed his leaders, especially Fidel Castro, without a doubt. But the degree to which leaders gain true trust is the result of their accuracy in interpreting the wishes and aspirations of the people in the full sense, and from a sincere struggle to fulfill the promises made.
The masses participate in agrarian reform and in the difficult task of managing state enterprises; which was also demonstrated through the heroic Playa Giron experience, warfare against groups of bandits armed by the CIA; participate through one of the most important decisions in the modern era during the October crisis; and now continues to work to build socialism.
Viewed from the outside, it seems that those who say about the existence of individual subordination under the state can be right. The masses carry out these tasks with an unparalleled enthusiasm and carry out the tasks outlined by the government, whether in the fields of economy, culture, defense, sports, etc.
The initiative arose from Fidel or from the revolutionary high commander and explained it to the people, who made it his own. In some cases, parties and governments take local experience and generalize it, following the same procedure.
Even so, the state sometimes makes mistakes. When there is an error, that is seen from the decline of collective enthusiasm due to the effect of quantitative decline on each element that composes the mass. Work becomes paralyzed until it reaches depreciation to an inadequate level. It's time to make corrections immediately. This happened in March 1962, as a result of sectarian policies imposed on the party by Anibal Escalante.
It is clear that this mechanism does not guarantee the succession of wise actions. More structured relations with the masses are needed, and we must improve them in the following years. In addition to the initiatives that emerged from the top ranks of government that have been done, we now use intuitive methods that arise from the general reaction to the big problems we face.
In this case Fidel is a leader. His unique way of uniting himself with the people can be captured only by seeing it in action. In a giant rally one can observe it as a dialogue between two tuning forks that vibrate to each other to produce new sounds. Fidel and the masses began to tremble together in a dialogue whose intensity grew to reach a climax in the mouth of a scream of struggle and victory.
Something that is difficult to understand for someone who does not live through the experience of revolution is the dialectic closeness between individuals and masses, where the masses, as a group of individuals, interconnect with their leaders.
Some phenomena like this can also be seen in capitalism, when politicians seem capable of mobilizing public opinion, but it is not a pure social movement (if it is truly pure, it is not entirely true to say they are capitalists). This movement is only able to survive, if people who are able to continue to be inspirational for them, or will survive during the rudeness of capitalist society continue to create illusion of the people.
In capitalist society, humans are controlled by law without mercy which is beyond their reach. Human beings are alienated and bound into a society by a cord network: the law of value. Law that applies to all aspects of his life, which shape his journey and destiny.
The law of capitalism, which deceives and is invisible to the average person, applies to the individual without realizing it. He only saw the breadth of the horizon without limits in front of him. This is how it is described by capitalist propagandists who claim to draw lessons from examples such as Rockeffeler - is it true or not - about the possibility of achieving success.
The piles of poverty and suffering required for the emergence of a Rockeffeler, and the piles of depravity that are contained in such wealth, are darkened by the painting, and it is not always possible for the power of the people to see clearly the legal concepts of capitalism.
(A discussion of how laborers in the imperialist countries gradually lose the internationalism spirit of their work class is due to a certain degree by exploitation of third world countries, and at the same time how the weakening of the spirit of mass struggle in imperialist countries, can be studied here, beyond the main objective of this paper.)
In any case the path to success in capitalist society is described as a struggle with risks where, it is shown, only a good quality individual can deal with it. Prizes appear in the distance; and the way to reach it full of loneliness. Then further, what takes place is competition between wolves; the winner will appear with other costs of failure.
Now I will try to define individuals, actors in the moving and strange drama of the development of this socialism, in their dual existence as unique human beings and at the same time members of society.
I think the place to start is to understand the quality of its incompleteness, as an unfinished product. The rest of the past is brought to the present in individual consciousness, and a continuous work is needed to erode the remnants. This process takes place on two sides. On the one hand the community acts through direct and indirect education; on the other hand, individuals advise themselves on the process of self-conscious education.
The new society that is formed must compete steadily with the past. The past is embedded not only in individual consciousness - where the remainder of an education systematically oriented towards the separation of individuals is still contained - but also through the basic character of that transition where the relationship of commodities still persists. The commodity is the economic cell of the capitalist society. As long as it still exists, the effect will infiltrate the organization of production and, consequently, into consciousness.
Marx explained the transition period as a result of the explosion of transformation from the capitalist system which was destroyed by its own contradiction. However, in the reality of history, we see that some countries whose bond ties with the tree of imperialism are weak will be released first - a phenomenon predicted by Lenin.
