Bilal Rashid, the spokesperson of Meteorological Department, told Urdu News that in recent days, there have been unusual rains in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sargodha, Faisalabad and wheat cultivation areas. Along with these rains, there were hailstorms in some areas, due to which the wheat crop is feared to be partially destroyed.
---
He said that this series of rains has not ended but will continue for another week. Therefore, farmers should wrap their wheat immediately after harvesting. This will reduce the loss of wheat.
---
Due to this series of rains, the farmers seem to be very worried. Secretary General of Pakistan Kisan Etihad Umeer Masood told Urdu News that the wheat crop has been greatly affected by the recent rains and the yield per acre has decreased.

He said that 'in the current situation, the farmers will suffer, but the government will not be able to meet the target of purchasing wheat.
---
Last year, due to poor planning, the government had exported three years' worth of stock by giving subsidy, due to which the target of 15 lakh tonnes more was set this year, which does not seem to be achieved. Importing wheat will be a big challenge in the current situation.
---
According to him, the government has been discouraging the cultivation of wheat for two years and giving a subsidy of five thousand rupees per acre to cultivate sunflower, canola corn and similar crops.
---
At the government level, Pasco and provincial governments are engaged in wheat procurement. In this regard, data is compiled on a daily basis. This data is sent to the National Command and Control Center.
---
